Northland is proud to partner with the University at Buffalo’s Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) to provide prospective students with academic assessment and the academic preparatory training they need to succeed.
Northland is committed to preparing each student for success. To succeed in advanced manufacturing and energy training courses and to meet advanced manufacturing and energy employer requirements, applicants are required to have completed high school or have a high school equivalency degree (formerly known as a “GED”) and to be able to pass the TABE (Test for Basic Adult Education) in reading and math at the 10th grade level or higher.
Northland is partnered with the EOC to assist prospective students to attain their high school equivalency degree or review their math and reading skills in preparation for the TABE. The EOC’s academic programming includes Academic Review, College Preparation, English as a Second Language, and High School Equivalency. Class schedules vary by program and by academic quarter; all programs and trainings are tuition-free. Northland Career Coaches will refer prospective students to preparatory training and assessment provided at the EOC on an as-needed basis.
